Investment (Starting/Joining Business) Scheme in Hong Kong

Program Overview

The Investment (Starting/Joining in Business) Visa is a type of work visa designed for persons who wish to engage in regular investment or business activities in Hong Kong.

Applicants must establish and operate a company in Hong Kong and their investment or business will employ local employees to promote the Hong Kong economy.

The applicant needs to prove to the Immigration Department that he/she has a good educational background, extensive business experience and sufficient operating capital and funds. Therefore, applicants are required to submit their financial records to the Immigration Department.

In addition, the applicant must be a major shareholder of the company to apply for an investment (establishing/joining in business) visa, otherwise the applicant is more suitable to apply for a work visa.

Eligibility

• Applicants with a good educational background, usually a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, but in special circumstances, good technical qualifications, proven professional ability and/or documented relevant experience and achievements may also be accepted
• The applicant can make significant contribution to the economy of Hong Kong
• There are no security reasons for refusing the application and the applicant does not have any known serious criminal record
