It has been about three months since the launch of the high-end talent pass program, and nearly 12,000 cases have been approved. The government is conducting a mid-term review, including considering adding more mainland universities.
The High-End Talent Pass Scheme launched at the end of last year allows qualified talents to develop in Hong Kong without having to be employed first. The Secretary for Labour and Welfare wrote in a newspaper article that as of the end of March, more than 20,000 applications had been received, and the number of applications has been steadily increasing at an average of more than 200 applications per day, describing the popularity of the program among foreign talents as far exceeding expectations.
